2 nights – South Coast – Aliwal Shoal

Durban’s South coast boasts some of the best waves and beaches in Durban, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, you are bound to get some of the best waves in Natal.

If you not surfing, you can take a Whale and Dolphin watching boat trip or visit the local Croc World.

You will stay at the Aliwal Surf & Diving retreat just a few steps away from the beach where you will be surrounded by indigenous bush, vibrant bird life and visiting monkeys.

We will have a traditional South African Braai where you can sit back with some beers and soak in the beauty of being in Africa!

2 nights – Port Shepstone

Port Shepstone not only offers great surf and white sand beaches but it is the perfect stop off on the way to the Wild Coast. The waves here are consistant and there are loads of breaks to choose from so you know you will be getting waves.

Take a microlight flight along the coast of Port Shepstone or get adventurous at Oribi Gorge, the spectacular forest-cloaked ravine of the Mzimkulwana River. The Oribi Gorge offers activities such as water rafting, the wild slide, the wild swing, and abseiling.

You will stay at Mantis & Moon 4 star hostel, 2 minutes away from the beach. Here you have a spectacular view from your balcony where you can take a relaxing bath or chill out in your hammock overlooking the jungle garden.

7 nights – Wild Coast / Transkei

The Transkei is Swell Tours main destination and for good reason!

The Wild Coast offers world class waves and beaches. When you out in the Transkei Ocean you then know you are surrounded by Africa. Things here are the way they used to be all over South Africa, where culture is strong, living is simple and the locals are in high spirits. Durban has a vast variety of waves all along it’s beautiful coast where Justin will guide you to the best spots depending on the conditions of the day. Some well known spots are New Pier, Bay, Snake Park, Umhlanga, Umdloti, and Balito.

Durban offers a great night life with excellent restaurants, pubs and clubs. You will stay in Durban’s best backpacker, Surf n’ Dreams and we will point you in the right direction and then let you do pretty much whatever you feel like for the night, whether it is climbing into bed after a great meal or finding out what Durban’s night life is all about!

1 night – Imfolozi Game Reserve

Imfolozi / Hluhluwe Game Reserve is the oldest reserve in South Africa and is the only under formal conservation in KwaZulu Natal where the Big 5 occur. We will take you on a game drive in the morning, have lunch out in the wild and then have a guided night drive to experience the Big 5 once the sun goes down.

You will stay in the tented camps in Imfolozi which are large, en-suite tents on stilts with a deck overlooking the wildlife.

2 Nights – East London

East London’s a well-known surf spot with awesome breaks like Nahoon Reef and Queensbury Bay which are Right Hander Point Breaks for the more advanced surfer. Those surfers not wanting to risk these point breaks, will go with Justin to surf at beach breaks such as Eastern beach.

You will stay at Sugar Shack which is spectacularly situated on a sand dune literally within spitting distance of Eastern Beach, yet only a few minutes’ walk from restaurants, pubs, clubs and supermarkets.

East London’s a well-known surf spot – Sugar Shack’s an integral part of the local surfing culture where surfers often meet. Learn to surf with lessons from qualified instructors, as well as other fun, inexpensive activities.

5 Nights – J Bay

J Bay surf speaks for itself! This world famous surf location has some of the best waves you will ever surf.

Justin your guide lived in J Bay for many years in the height of his surfing career so he is well-known and knows exactly where the surf will be cooking! There are loads of breaks to choose from like Super Tubes, Tubes, Point and Boneyards to name a few.

When in J Bay you will get waves no matter what, but, if we can drag you away from the beaches at least one time during this trip, these are some of the adventures you will get to do:
Visit the Seaview Lion Park, here you can handle Lion cubs and view other game such as Giraffe, Zebra, Jackals, Crocodile and African Wildcat. 
After this, if you feel like a major adrenalin rush, we will drive to Bloukrans where you will bungee the highest jump in the world!
